Jonas Norrman has a doctor’s degree in climatology from the University of Gothenburg in year 2000. Since then he has been involved in climate mitigation research, e.g. energy efficiency, renewable energy. Today often it has a focus on demonstration and commercial exploitation of research result. As a researcher for the GAME network he works with research groups at Swedish research institutes and from the Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. The network also includes representatives from international companies and regional authorities. At present the GAME network is mapping existing research and innovation activities, competence centres and infrastructures in Western Sweden, which relates to bio economy. The report will be presented this autumn and serve as a basis to a regional bio economy strategy in line with European policies on Sustainable Growth.

Ida Lindbergh holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Economics from the University of Gothenburg and works as project manager at the Centre for Environment and Sustainability, GMV, a network organization at Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg. At GMV Ida is a resource for the GAME network (Gothenburg Action for Management of the Environment), a collaborative project in West Sweden bringing partners and stakeholders together from research, business sector and regional authorities. At present the GAME network is mapping existing activities and initiatives in Western Sweden that are related to biomass use and the transformation towards a bioeconomy. The report will to link the regional activities to the European policies within the area and serve as a base for a regional bio economy strategy.
